What Brandon Eats

Welcome!

As many of you know, I failed miserably at keeping up my recipe page on Brandon’s blog.  So, I thought I might give it another try on my own blog!

A few disclaimers:

  1. The recipes on this blog are not my own personal creation.  More than likely they are from family, friends, Martha Stewartallrecipes.com, or foodtv.com.  I have amended some recipes, some are perfect replications…but none of them came to me as I was falling asleep one night (it goes to show, there is nothing new under the sun…Ecclesiates 1:9).  I just don’t want to infringe on any copyrights…
  2. This is a recipe blog…and for the time being, it will remain only a recipe blog.
  3. Just so we are all clear…I am not going to get on any soapboxes about certain foods or eating styles.  These recipes are what I fix for Brandon and me to eat on a daily basis.  I strive to serve relatively healthy, balanced meals, and I try to balance my grocery budget with a growing interest in “green” living.
  4. If you try a recipe and have a comment about it, post it!  I want to know how to make better meals, and these recipes are not without error…so, let’s all work together on this!
Okay, I think that is it.  As far as navigation goes, the different pages at the top categorize the recipes, and under each page are pdf links for each of the recipes.  Click on a recipe and enjoy!

I, for one, am very excited about this recipe blog. In fact, I tried a recipe made known to me by Bethan last night, and it was very delicious! Bring on the recipes!

p.s. thanks for the use of your tart pan :)

    Bethan,
I am so excited that you are doing this! I will be sending you a recipe soon. Yesterday, Meg and I went to Greenville where Meg was speaking a t a small women’s Bible Study. We stayed for a pot luck lunch and it was all good home cooking. The mandarin cake was fabulous. The leader of the Bible Study is 84 years old. PTL

Don’t mean to be a pain, but what is “green” living?

  • bethanleigh // July 4, 2008 at 6:45 pm | Reply

    Leigh,

Great question!…and I not going to even try to give you a comprehensive answer because, like I said in the post, I have a growing interest, not an authoritative stance.
Nonetheless, from what I gather, green living (check out http://greenlivingideas.com/) has to do with decreasing the impact of our environmental footprint. In the past, I have had a tendency towards waste and convenience, but now I am looking into ways to live with more renewable waste and natural (and thus more healthy) consumption. I find this especially helpful when it coincides with saving me money…for example, I make my own cleaning products and laundry detergent because it uses less undefinable chemicals and it saves me money (and because I can scent my products with whatever wonderful essentials oils that I want!!)

I hope that answers your question!

    Bethan!

I am so glad I found your blog! I LOVE cooking but being that Adam and I have just been married a little less than a year, I’m still learning a lot and collecting recipes. I get so tired of what I always make. I’m so excited to try all these recipes!!

    Bethan,
I love your recipe blog. Write as many recipes as you can now, because soon you won’t have time to do anything except look after Jane and Brandon.
I went shopping again today for Jane. I must STOP going into baby shops!!
    I am soooo excited!!!
    Love mummy
