What Brandon Eats

Dinner During Pregnancy

May 5, 2009 · 4 Comments

Cooking dinner has been a bit tricky for me during pregnancy.  During the first trimester, I was ridiculously tired after teaching all day…although, I didn’t have any morning sickness, so I can’t complain!!  I also have had a real problem eating leftovers.  Brandon used to call me his “leftover champion,” but pregnancy has pulled me right out of the race.  Needless to say, I have had to try a few different recipes to see what worked.  For almost all of the last five months, I have craved fish…salmon, tilapia, SUSHI, you name it.  It’s tricky because it is recommended that pregnant women eat fish only around once a week…umph!  So, you better believe that at least once a week we are eating fish!

All of this to say, I added two new dinner recipes tonight, one of which is a salmon recipe.  I hope you all enjoy!

Oh, and regardless of the funny things your body does during pregnancy, I am so thankful that the Lord has allowed me this experience, and I am enjoying it thoroughly!!

Thanks for the fishy update…I crave fish so much now, I sure hope it drops off during pregnancy so I’m not in the same boat you are! Maybe you can eat california rolls–sushi sans fish might still feel a bit close to fish. :)

Lucky you are not having morning sickness.
Be a healthy mom and wishing your baby good :D

Why can’t you eat leftovers? If this is a pregnancy thing, I am in big trouble some day because Will and I are the leftover champions of the universe…

I never had too many food aversions, but I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a glass of milk every day. We went through two gallons of milk a week in my last trimester!

Needless to say, I haven’t had any peanut butter and jelly sandwiches since I had Silas. It grosses me out now.

Oh – and my doctor told me I couldn’t have any fish – I’m a little bitter.

Call me sometime. Things have finally slowed down for us. I want to hear about what has been going on!
